As Bostonians our main inspiration every year is the people behind the Boston Marathon.
Here are some of the stories of 2016 #BostonMarathon’s top finishers.
Please take a moment and read about:
- Tatiana McFadden, who captured her third consecutive Boston Marathon women’s wheelchair race on Monday April 18th 2016.
- Bobbi Gibb, the first woman to have run the entire Boston Marathon (50 years ago: 1966).
- Atsede Baysa Who won by now the Chicago Marathon, Boston Marathon and Paris Marathon twice. She has also won at the
- Xiamen International Marathon and the Istanbul Marathon. Women’s Marathon winner gave her trophy to legendary Marathon women Bobbi Gibb. Gibb, moved to tears, accepted with one condition. In a year, Gibb said, she’ll go to Baysa’s native Ethiopia and return it to her. “I can’t possibly keep this,” Gibb said. “This woman has a beautiful soul. What a big heart she has.”
